Lily and Dana Kruszynska set up their fashion business in the 90’s and have since created their own brand of exquisite and unique haute couture evening and wedding dresses which they sell from their boutique in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge. The sisters are originally from Poland where from a young age their creativity was awakened and encouraged. Lily attended an academy of music, graduating in literature and eventually became passionate and involved in theatre production and design whereas Dana, having moved to Britain, graduated from the London College of Fashion in 1990.
Kruszynska has since become synonymous with glamour, femininity and luxury. Many of the gowns are hand embroidered using semi-precious crystals and beads and the gowns are made from the finest laces, tulles and silks combining romance with sophistication. Each dress is made with the greatest attention to detail and each is a unique creation of the highest quality. The most recent Kruszynska collection can be seen at 35 Beauchamp Place, but bespoke gowns and wedding dresses can also be designed and made for any special occasion, upon appointment.
The appeal and success of Kruszynska is demonstrated by the variety of celebrities and high profile personalities who wear their designs - from Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rachel Hunter, Natasha Kaplinsky, Penny Lancaster and Nancy Dell’Olio to musicians and international royalty. Lily, who trained as a classical pianist, particularly enjoys designing dresses for musicians and finds inspiration in the music the artist will be performing, and so Kruszynska counts Leslie Garret, Sarah Chang, Katherine Jenkins and Sarah Brightman as some of its most talented and loyal musical clientele.
Kruszynska gowns have also been commissioned by both the BBC and film makers for appearances on television and film. Lily and Dana were recently asked, amongst others, to design the wardrobe of Tess Daly as presenter of “Strictly Come Dancing” Series 3 and to dress Natasha Kaplinsky and Katherine Jenkins for the televised VE Day Celebrations in Trafalgar Square.
